Manaia are thought to have a guardian-like nature. They have been called bird men and have also been portrayed as a fish type creature. Here's a thing I did in chalk pastels a while back.

PS A big shout out to Jo and her students in Auckland! Yes there will be Christmas Craft with Maori theme - working on it now. Be on blog in November.

PPS I been re-learning some software. Pain in the nono. That's why I ain't been here. Also real life happened, so had to go tend to that. Aaarrrrghhh! So eyes hangin' out (tired), going to curl up on the sofa with a cuppa and toast and catch a movie while there's no-one here and a bit of quiet. :)
