Painted Stones

Have I done this? Heck yeah! I get mine from the beach.

Fresh air and contemplation.

This activity is great for all ages. If you haven't done so already, take a look at the drawing series How to Draw a Koru. Plenty of ideas there about how to decorate your stones.

As in the previous post about painting stones, these stones have a spiral.

This stone was not undercoated, just drawn on with black vivid and painted. Its nine years old now and used as a door stop. You don't even have to use paint - Vivid or Sharpie pens are great on thier own. The Koru Panel Example shows how easy it is to make something look cool with only one motif.

Don't be limited by colour choice. Go nuts and use any colours you want. I made a whole heap once, they look pretty cool altogether.

This is a small stone (approx 3 inches width) about 15 years old, and was a gift to guests at a Kuia's birthday do. Te Maunga Taranaki - Mount Egmont.

I really hope you have a go at this. It's a lot of fun.

:)
